Christian Threatened To Sue

Triple H opened the show by speaking about his role as special guest referee in the SummerSlam match between John Cena and CM Punk and his responsibilities as WWE's chief operating officer. He announced most of the night's match card, including the Intercontinental Championship match.

Christian interrupted and said he was going to sue the WWE. He claimed he had "medical documents" showing that Randy Orton was "mentally unstable". He said facing Orton at SummerSlam would put him in "an unsafe work environment" and demanded Triple H pull the no holds barred stipulation.
